Little Sweetheart's First Birthday

Little Leah was born in February so what better theme than sweethearts. I designed this invitation to set the tone and colors for Leah's first birthday party.
Of course I need the thank you to match the invitation, so using pictures of Little Leah on her special day I designed a matching thank you card.

Leah's outfit needs to match her colors and what little girl doesn't look adorable in a tutu. Using tulle in the party colors I created a tutu for Leah and ordered a custom shirt to make sure her outfit matched her sweetheart theme. And certainly every girl needs matching accessories, so she had a matching heart hair clip. Creating the dessert bar was a ton of fun and using the heart theme was easy since Valentine's Day is right around the corner. First, I created a custom cupcake tower to hold all the delicious cupcakes. I made vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes and topped them with either vanilla buttercream or chocolate frosting. Then to top them off I created various red fondant hearts. No detail was spared, even the cupcake liners had little hearts on them.

The lollipop holders matched the cupcake tower and held red and white heart lollipops.
These white chocolate covered pretzels were covered with tiny little pink, white and red hearts.
Here is a picture of the dessert/candy bar before I put out the cupcakes. Even the m&m's matched the color theme.

You can't have a first birthday without a cake. I created a pink swirl vanilla cake with white buttercream and red fondant hearts.

One of my favorite details is the Birthday Banner I created for Leah to showcase favorite photos from when she was born until 11 months. The borders of the paper had different cut out designs and I alternated the colors using different shades of pink and red. Even the clothespins had little hearts on them. Remember, it's all in the details!
